.NET APPLICATION DEVELOPER

contract to hire position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Design and develop custom web based software solutions

      Provide maintenance of existing software applications

      Design and develop custom software solutions and man to machine interfaces with off-the-shelf hardware as well as hardware developed in-house.

      Create rich user interfaces and develop back-end transactions/procedures

      Other responsibilities as assigned by manager

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft .NET development with demonstrated experience using ASP.NET 4.0

      Must have strong OOP skills using C# and/or VB.net, along with jQuery, JavaScript and AJAX.

      Must have knowledge and understanding of XML

      Must possess the ability to work in a small development team with minimum mentoring

      Good verbal and written communication skills are a must.

      Superior organizational skills

      Knowledge of distributed computing and MSMQ 2.0/3.0 is a plus

      Ability to travel for project startups (2-5 weeks at a time) is a plus.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

      Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

      3-5 years of experience in the design, development, and deployment of custom software applications, with specific experience:

o   Creating and/or working with .NET web services

o   Creating and updating SQL Server stored procedures and transactions

o   Creating web applications that interact with these procedures.

o   Using development tools such as VS.net, Visual Source Safe, Team Foundation Server, and/or Subversion

      Experience with Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI a plus

      Experience interfacing with external hardware and process control development a plus.
