Janfay Corporate Recruiting is seeking an experienced Accountant to fill a Cost Analyst role for a leading manufacturer and one of Greater Cincinnati's fastest growing companies.  Join a manufacturer with multiple entities and several opportunities to grow internally and within other divisions. 

Primary Responsibilities:

This key position has a significant role in the month-end close process including journal entries and valuation of inventory.  Areas of responsibility include Inventory, Costing/Absorption, and Margin Analysis working with several facilities across multiple states. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates/Prepares Annual Standard Cost roll including providing management with analysis on impact to inventory and cost of sales
  • Strategic partner with the plants/business to create efficiencies and to enhance financial reporting and performance
  • Standard cost process improvements and documentation
  • Responsible for transition of inventory & costing when acquiring various businesses
  • Overhead costs and absorption costing
  • Obsolete inventory process and reserve
  • Month-end gross margin analysis
  • Coordinate with Inventory manager on physical inventory.
  • Coordinate cycle counting efforts
  • Review and reconciliation of COGS accounts
  • Prepare journal entries for assigned areas during month-end close
  • Offer suggestions for enhanced internal controls
  • Special projects as needed

 

Hiring Profile           

  • 4-year Accounting degree

  • 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting field, with 2+ years in Cost is preferred

  • Distribution or manufacturing background is a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word, specifically Excel pivot tables, Access queries.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Excellent analytical skills required

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Some travel (up to 25%)
